20 Reasons to Choose Transparent EL Technology

This download is the latest in a series of documents explaining key points about our technology, processes and approach to display technology. Download the two-page PDF which includes all of the major specs for our  transparent and segmented thin film electroluminescent display technology.

As a teaser, here are two of the reasons.

  1. Transparency creates customer intrigue and curiosity
  2. 200G shock resiliency is more reliable than vacuum florescent displays (VFD) to improve your product's durability

The Benefits of Transparent EL are Clear

What if you could see through a display? Well now you can with our Transparent and Segment Electroluminescent (EL) technology. We've been hiding this one in our labs for a while, but we are getting interest in it from companies that want a unique look for their application, everything from automobiles to consumer appliances.

Transparent EL has the rugged performance characteristics of our other EL displays but with the added benefit of being able to see through the glass material. You can also cut the display into curved shapes or have a mirrored view instead of a transparent one.

New Whitepaper on Transparent Electroluminescent

Gerald Smid, Adi Abileah, Kari Härkönen and Arto Pakkala of Planar Systems recently presented their findings on transparent electroluminescent displays at the Electronics Displays Conference in Nuermberg, Germany. You can download their whitepaper on transparent EL displays or review our entire whitepaper collection.

Upcoming Event: Embedded Systems Conference - Silicon Valley

We will be showing off some of our latest display creations at the 2008 Embedded Systems Conference in San Jose, CA. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Transparent, Curved, and Mirrored Displays
  • High performance monitors for marine applications. See the difference optical bonding makes!
  • The latest 16:9, open frame displays for digital signage & kiosks
  • Wide temperature range electroluminescent (EL) displays with operating temperatures of - 50°C ~ + 85° C

Visit us at Booth 309 at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, April 15-17, 2008. Contact Janis Jennings to schedule a specific demonstration time or just stop by our booth at the show.
